About Gundog Training in Kent
We provide ethical gundog training for both pets and working dogs.

Our focus is on training you as the handler/owner and empowering you to develop your dog and build a strong partnership based on trust, fun and the strongest bond.

We do not use labels on our training methods as our approach is entirely flexible to you and your dog, but our training philosophy is around keeping training fun and achieving success through positive experiences.

We do teach and encourage owners to set boundaries with their dogs, but through the lens of actions vs consequences. We do not tolerate any form of harsh handling.

The downland, farmland, and coastal margins around Deal have long supported game and working dogs. The open, windswept character of this part of East Kent — quite different from the wooded Weald — creates a specific kind of training challenge. Scent behaviour is different in coastal and downland environments. Dogs that have only trained in sheltered woodland settings can find open ground harder to work systematically. We train in the kind of terrain your dog will actually encounter.
The Sandwich Bay area to the north offers internationally important wetland habitat, and the Stour Valley running inland provides river valley countryside rich with wildlife and distraction. For gundogs in training, that's a gift — and we use it.

Whether you've never trained a gundog before or you've worked dogs for years and want to refine a specific skill, our sessions are structured around your level as much as your dog's. We believe the handler's confidence, timing, and understanding of how their dog learns is just as important as anything the dog itself does. Our coaching reflects that.
We're happy to work with complete beginners — many of our best client relationships have started with a handler who said 'I have no idea what I'm doing.' That's exactly where we start.
